 Approved Commercial Diplomat Mandatory Qualifying Programme 

QCD Qualified Certified Diplomat Accreditation:

QCD is recognition of ability, integrity and competence of qualified commercial diplomats and is open to individuals who can satisfy council with significant career progression. Prospective Qualified Certified Diplomats are to safeguard, promote and protect the integrity of the unique profession of commercial diplomacy. Candidates must be able to produce evidence of seniority and maturity of experience in commercial diplomatic field or any field that involves or promotes the advancement and professional practice of commercial diplomacy.

 

To qualify for accreditation candidates must:

  • have completed the Commercial Diplomat Mandatory Qualifying Course (Level 8)
  • have been in employment (Senior Executive/Management level) for an aggregate of at least twelve years (plus 2 years postmastership)
  • submit a portfolio of professional experience
  • be willing and able to contribute to and actively support the mission of the professional body (Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats)

Other route

To qualify for accreditation candidates must:

  • have completed a Higher Doctoral (PhD) or postdoctoral programme or equivalent in Commercial Diplomatic affairs related field i.e International Trade Policy, International Trade and WTO Law, Commercial Law, International Relations, Diplomatic Service/Protocol, International Arbitration, Judicial Diplomacy or other acceptable related field 
  • be in employment with significant proven relevant practical experience in commercial diplomacy related field (more than 15 years at Senior Executive/Management level)
  • be able to submit a project (depending on years of proven practical professional experience) and or Portfolio of experience with an official supporting letter, followed by Peer Interview (Unless exemptions are granted) in order to qualify.
  • be willing and able to promote, contribute to and actively support the objectives of the global professional body.
  • All applicants must be Fellow of Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats prior to application*

Those without any of the above, but with equivalent or other advanced professional qualification (Master degree) with more than 15 years proven practical professional experience (Senior Executive level) in Commercial Diplomacy related field may be considered, however, applicants may be required to complete a customized mandatory qualifying course to cover modules which they have not already studied and are of paramount importance in order to qualify.
